Tmux Agent Pulse
Claude Code and Codex activity indicators, popup, and sidebar for tmux - jerriclynsjohn/tmux-agent-pulse
About Tmux Agent Pulse
AgentPulse shows which Claude Code and Codex CLI conversations are working, waiting for you, or idle in tmux. Add indicators to your window list and pane borders, or use the optional popup picker and sidebar.
The plugin tracks the process that owns each conversation. A live agent without a matching hook record appears as unknown. Internal child agents remain part of their parent pane.
The plugin started as a way to keep track of Claude Code and Codex during daily work across several tmux panes. It is an early preview under the MIT license . There is no tagged release yet.
The recording uses real Claude Code and Codex sessions in two sample projects. It shows a question and permission prompt, work resuming after a response, and navigation with the popup and sidebar. Captions are included, and pauses are shortened.
The local test environment uses tmux 3.6a and Codex CLI 0.153.4. The repository includes macOS/Linux CI. See the latest CI results . See compatibility and test coverage .
If your TPM initialization path differs, use that path in the example. Reload your tmux configuration. Press prefix + I to install the plugin. Then install the agent hooks as described below.
With TPM's default directory, run the remaining commands from ~/.tmux/plugins/tmux-agent-pulse . For a custom plugin directory, use that checkout instead.
